GB's Lee Morton equalises for team GB against India in hockey quarter-final

Scottish hockey player Lee Morton says the failure of Team GB's men to get to the Olympic medal matches is a "missed opportunity".

The side were knocked out in the quarter finals by India on Sunday.

Despite having a player sent off early in the second quarter, the Indians took the lead, before Morton netted to restore parity.

With the score level at full-time, the encounter was decided by a shootout.

"It has been amazing," Morton said. "I had given up on my Olympic dream but I got a chance again and to be here is special.

"But we really wanted to be on that podium. We were so close but ultimately it is failure. It is a missed opportunity. I am not quite sure how, but we have fallen short."
