Britain win gold in thriller

Coleraine brothers Richard and Peter Chambers clinched gold at the World Cup regatta in Lucerne as part of the Great Britain lightweight men's four.

Peter was joining his brother as part of the lightweight four for the first time with the boat also including Paul Mattick and Rob Williams.

The crew finished half a length ahead of Italy in Sunday's final.

The Lucerne event was the last major regatta before the World Championships in Slovenia at the start of September.

Peter Chambers replaced injured Chris Bartley for the Lucerne event.

Richard Chambers paid tribute to his brother's performance.

"I'm so proud of what he's done. To come into a boat that expect to win gold every race is massive.

"He supported us all the way down. He's shown his maturity over the last few weeks and it's been awesome to race with him."

The younger Chambers brother spoke of his pride after the race.

"It's our first time together and the fact we won is fantastic."
