European Rowing Championships 2014: Great Britain win two golds

Great Britain's men's four and women's pair both won gold on the final day of the European Championships in Belgrade.

The quartet of Andrew Triggs Hodge, George Nash, Mohamed Sbihi and Alex Gregory led from start to finish to take victory in a European best time of five minutes, 46.86 seconds.

Helen Glover and Polly Swann matched that achievement, finishing seven seconds ahead of Romania in 7:03.62.

With two gold, four silver and two bronze, GB topped the medals table.

Silvers were won by the lightweight men's pair of Sam Scrimgeour and Jonathan Clegg and the men's quadruple sculls quartet of Sam Townsend, Charles Cousins, Graeme Thomas and Peter Lambert.

In addition, the lightweight men's four and the women's eight took runners-up spots.

Kat Copeland, in her first major regatta after two years out, took bronze in the lightweight women's double sculls alongside Imogen Walsh, with the men's eight also finishing third in the final race of the regatta.
