Coleraine brothers Richard and Peter Chambers will be in new Great Britain crews for the European Championships in Poznan later this month.

Richard will partner William Fletcher in the men's lightweight scull while Peter will be alongside Jonathan Clegg in the lightweight pair.

Fellow Coleraine man, Joel Cassells, debuts in the lightweight four.

London 2012 bronze medallist, sculler Alan Campbell, misses out on the trip to Poland due to injury.

The lightweight four previously featured the Chambers brothers, who won silver medals at the London Olympic Games.

"I'm really excited about doing the double scull with Will - it's a brand-new project and we really haven't rowed together much but it has started off really well so far, a good high standard," said Richard Chambers.

"Hopefully we can deliver on what we have done in training and give ourselves something to build on."

Cassells admitted he was surprised to be selected for the lightweight men's four, the boat in which he won a silver medal at both the 2013 and 2014 World U23 Championships.

"I can't quite believe it, it's a tremendous honour to be selected in an Olympic-class boat," said the 20-year-old.

"Obviously I now have to prove my selection was right and we can get a good result in Poznan."

Meanwhile, Katherine Grainger will return to international competition in Poland in the same boat she won 2012 Olympic gold.

The 39-year-old Scot took two years off from the sport after winning the double sculls with Anna Watkins in London.
