Prop Stuart Fielden will leave Wigan Warriors at the end of the 2012 season.

The 33-year-old joined Wigan from Bradford Bulls in 2006, external for a world record fee and helped the Warriors to Grand Final success in 2010.

But persistent injury problems have wrecked his last two years at the DW Stadium, restricting him to two appearances in that period.

"It was a very difficult decision to make not to offer Stuart a further contract," said coach Shaun Wane.

"He has been a wonderful player and a superb role model. His commitment and attitude to training and getting back to fitness after two terrible years is a real credit to him.

"Now fully fit, Stuart is at the stage of his career where he is looking for a regular place in the side. With stiff competition for places, we are unable to guarantee that here at Wigan.

"We feel sure that a move elsewhere would be in his best interest. We thank Stuart for his superb service and wish him all the best for the future."
