Investment talks between Super League side Hull KR and businessman Tony Larvin have broken down.

The Robins revealed earlier this month that they were having discussions with Larvin and had set a date of 31 January for talks to be concluded.

A Hull KR statement read:, external "Club officials had been in contact with Mr Larvin during the last three months but promised funds have not materialised.

"Therefore, the club will actively seek other avenues of potential investment."

The Robins posted losses in excess of £500,000 in their most recent accounts.

They opened their 2013 Super League season with a home defeat by Catalan Dragons on Sunday.
