Challenge Cup: Gloucestershire All Golds 6-82 Salford City Reds
- Published
Super League strugglers Salford City Reds scored 15 tries as they eased to a Challenge Cup fourth-round win over Gloucestershire All Golds.
Youngster Jon Ford scored a hat-trick, while Will Hope and Ashley Gibson grabbed two tries apiece for the Reds.
Marc Sneyd contributed 26 of their points, crossing for Salford's first try and kicking 11 goals.
Jordan Rice registered a consolation try for the All Golds, but the Championship One side were well beaten.
Jordan Walne, Niall Evalds, Jodie Broughton, Adam Walne, Jake Emmitt, Vic Mauro and George Tyson were Salford's other scorers as the visitors ran riot in their last game before new head coach Brian Noble officially takes charge.
The home side started brightly but were soon overpowered by a dominant Salford, who raced into a 38-0 lead at the interval, helped by three scores in the final five minutes of the half.
Ford went over for the first of his treble straight from the restart, before Rice barged his way over to give the hosts a deserved score.
But as the All Golds tired, the Reds took control and completed an easy victory to go through to the last 16.
