Salford prop Shannan McPherson and centre Martin Gleeson have agreed new contracts at the Salford City Stadium.

Australian prop McPherson, 27, joined from South Sydney in 2011 and will remain at the club until 2015.

Glesson, 32, arrived on a two-year deal in January when Dr Marwan Koukash completed his takeover and has signed a 12-month extension.

"He is a top player with a wealth of experience and this is a big boost for us," said chief executive Ed Farish.

Former Wigan and Warrington three-quarter Gleeson was suspended for three years, with half of that suspended, while at Hull FC for failing a drugs test but started training with the Reds once this was completed in December.

Forward McPherson missed the end of last season after a tear in his knee and has featured six times this campaign for the Super League's bottom side.
