Ashley Gibson to join Castleford Tigers from Salford City Reds

Castleford Tigers have agreed a deal to sign Salford centre Ashley Gibson on a two-year contract.

The 26-year-old, who will join the Tigers for the start of next season, has made 21 league appearances for Brian Noble's side this term.

Gibson told BBC Radio Leeds: "I'm really excited.

"I worked with Daryl Powell at Leeds at the start of my career and it's a real bonus to be joining a club like Castleford."

He added: "They've been doing well since Daryl came in and they're finishing the season in good form. Hopefully they can carry that on next year.

"The crowd is always on top of you as an opposing player at Castleford and I can't wait to have them on my side."
