Ashton Sims: Fiji forward to join Warrington Wolves in 2015

Sims will experience Super League for the first time in 2015

Fiji forward Ashton Sims will leave NRL side North Queensland Cowboys at the end of the season to join Warrington.

The 29-year-old prop has agreed a two-year contract with the Wolves and will link up with the Super League side ahead of the 2015 campaign.

"I'm really looking forward to a new challenge at a great club," said Sims.

"The time is right for my family and me to experience something new and we are really looking forward to this adventure," he told the club website.

Australia-born Sims was the eldest of three brothers to represent Fiji at the 2013 World Cup, qualifying to play for the country through his Fijian mother.

Younger siblings Korbin and Tariq were also part of the squad that reached the last four before losing heavily to eventual champions Australia in their semi-final at Wembley.

He has played in the NRL for more than a decade, making his debut for St George Illawarra in 2003 before moving on to Brisbane Broncos and then North Queensland Cowboys.

Warrington coach Tony Smith said: "Ashton is an outstanding, experienced player who is going to be a quality addition.

"His ambition and wealth of experience will be of real value, particularly for the development of the young, talented crop of forwards we have coming through.

"He has been a top performer in the NRL for a number of years and caught the eye of many clubs with his performances in the World Cup."
