Danny Brough led Huddersfield to a win over Hull KR in tricky wet conditions.
The Giants scored through Michael Lawrence after Albert Kelly dropped the ball, but Hull's Kris Welham replied.
Another Rovers error let in Aaron Murphy, but Kelly reduced the deficit before Leroy Cudjoe walked in a try.
Brough commanded the second half, kicking over a penalty and setting up Jermaine McGillvary, before Ukuma Ta'ai added Huddersfield's sixth try and Josh Mantellato scored a consolation.
Huddersfield have now won three Super League games in a row and are fourth in the table, with Hull KR ninth.
The hosts started well with Brough's chip into the in-goal area causing problems for Kelly, who spilled the ball and Lawrence touched down.
Hull KR responded with their first real attack when Welham collected Maurice Blair's looping ball, but Kevin Larroyer spilled the ball on Hull KR's 10m line allowing Murphy an easy try.
Kelly made amends for his earlier error, powering over the line, but Rovers' defence could not handle the pressure of back-to-back sets and Cudjoe scored a simple try minutes before the interval.
Brough's kicking game was crucial in the second half when the weather turned and the skies opened.
The Giants' captain slotted over a penalty and supported Kyle Wood's break for his fourth try of the season, before executing a pin-point kick to McGilvary, who dived over the line.
Ta'ai's try extended Huddersfield's lead, before Mantellato went over late in the match for Hull KR.
Huddersfield coach Paul Anderson:
"He's [Brough] a great player and I'm really pleased he got the try.
"We've come off a week off and it could've been a potential banana skin against a team who are doing well.
"But we competed really well and, while there wasn't much tempo to the game, we did what we had to do. Now we've got to make sure we do the right things through the week so our energy levels are good for Friday."
Hull KR coach Chris Chester:
"We spoke all week about putting pressure on Brough but we just couldn't do that.
"He's the best kicking half-back in the competition by a mile. I wish he was in my team as he was the difference between the sides.
"The boys are going to get a few days off and they deserve it. It's farcical that we've played three games in 10 days."
