Kevin Sinfield wants to help Leeds Rhinos win the treble as he prepares for his final appearance for the club.

The former England captain, 35, is switching codes to join Yorkshire Carnegie after Saturday's Grand Final against Wigan Warriors.

Leeds are aiming to complete the treble - a feat only Bradford and St Helens have managed in the Super League era.

"It's never been done in my time so it would be really special," skipper Sinfield told BBC Radio Leeds.

"I'm looking forward to it and I'm pretty relaxed at the moment. No doubt I'll be nervous on Saturday.

"I want to enjoy it and there's a lot of people who have played a huge part in my career and it would be nice to put on a good performance for them."

Sinfield was a non-playing member of the Leeds Rhinos squad that contested the first Old Trafford Grand Final against Wigan in 1998.

The then 18-year-old had made his debut for the senior side the previous year and has gone on to win six titles at Manchester United's ground.

"I'd played a lot for the academy that year and we'd managed to win the academy Grand Final," he said. "With it being the first final here we did a lap of honour at half-time and I remember that vividly.

"Unfortunately Leeds didn't get the result that night but I think it set a standard of what Super League was about.

"The crowd is pretty close to the pitch and there is always a great atmosphere. It's a great place to play and I look forward to playing there on Saturday."

Sinfield is not the only Rhinos legend who will be making his final appearance for the club in Saturday's showpiece.

Props Jamie Peacock and Kiwi Kylie Leuluai, both 37, are set to retire after the game, with Peacock poised to take on the football manager role at Hull KR.

"They have been great servants to this club and have been great leaders," Sinfield added. "I don't know how you replace them because they have been awesome.

"It has been great to play alongside them. 'JP' is the original warrior and he is a phenomenon with how he performs every week.

"Kylie is more of a silent assassin. He is very robust and is known for his crunching tackles."

'Got the T-shirt, got the burger, made the movie'

Hooker Rob Burrow: "We want to win it for a number of reasons but none more so than wanting to send out three champion blokes who have been behind everything this club has done in the last decade.

"You can't replace them."

Coach Brian McDermott: "They're very mature. They've seen it, done it, got the T-shirt, got the burger and made the movie.

"They'll handle the occasion, there will be no drama about that but we are going to have to fight for this. We have no divine right to win this game."
