Widnes Vikings: Prop Sam Brooks joins Super League side

Widnes finished ninth in the Super League table before the Super 8s split last season

Super League side Widnes Vikings have signed Scotland prop Sam Brooks on a two-year deal after a successful trial.

The 22-year-old was with Whitehaven in the Championship last term and could play for them again in the upcoming season as part of a dual registration deal between the clubs.

The former Wigan youngster has also had a previous stint at Rochdale.

"It's an exciting opportunity to go full time with a professional outfit," he told the club website.
