Jodie Broughton ran in three of six second-half tries against 12-man Huddersfield to help Catalans Dragons to victory at John Smith's Stadium.

Louis Anderson and Glenn Stewart tries put Catalans 12-0 up before Jake Connor responded and Dragons' Krisnan Inu was sin-binned for his dangerous tackle which ended Eorl Crabtree's day.

Leroy Cudjoe ran in one of three tries to put Giants 20-12 up at the break.

Catalans then ran riot after Joe Wardle saw red for a high hit on Remi Casty.

A second triumph away from home this season lifts Catalans to seventh, while defeat leaves Huddersfield second from bottom.

The Dragons were two tries up early before three scores in eight minutes saw the hosts take control, with Huddersfield crossing through Jermaine McGillvary and Larne Patrick after Inu was sin-binned for his spear tackle on Crabtree.

Cudjoe's intercept try looked to send Giants on their way to a second successive win after suffering four defeats to start the season, but Wardle's high shot on Casty soon after the interval triggered their downfall.

Former Giant Broughton ran in a hat-trick on his first return to the club, before Richie Myler, Paul Aiton and Julian Bousquet completed a commanding win.

Huddersfield head coach Paul Anderson: "We could use the sending off as an excuse to paper over the cracks but when our attitude at the beginning of the game - giving them the scores that we did - was like it was, I felt overall we got what we deserved.

"Going 12-0 down and then 20-12 up stinks because it suggest we made a decision to crack on with what our job is, then suddenly decide not to again in the second half.

"Our start was poor, the second part of the first half was quite good but the second half was abysmal.

"It's embarrassing and if people want to play for the Giants, they won't if they play like that."

Catalans head coach Laurent Frayssinous: "I was really happy with the way we started both halves of the game and got on top of a good Huddersfield side twice.

"We have to understand why we made some poor decisions the last 15 minutes of the first half but apart from that we were on top.

"Paul Aiton's energy is very good for his team-mates and I know he will get better.

"I'm very pleased with the away performances, we now have to learn how to win in at home in Perpignan."
