Matt Parcell has scored four tries in his past three Super League games for Hull KR

Huddersfield beat Hull KR to seal a third straight win for caretaker boss Luke Robinson, despite Matt Parcell's hat-trick.

Ashton Golding touched down for the hosts early on before Jermaine McGillvary ran in two quickfire tries.

Leroy Cudjoe crossed for Huddersfield to take an 18-0 lead at the break but Parcell got Rovers back in it.

Parcell completed his hat-trick either side of Chris McQueen's score but Jake Wardle put the Giants out of sight.

Huddersfield remain in sixth place following the victory, while Rovers drop to the bottom of the table.

Moments after scoring his third try of the match, Parcell was sent to the bin for a tackle on Golding and the hosts capitalised on their man advantage as Wardle touched down just before Will Tate's try.

Since Simon Woolford's exit, Huddersfield have now won against Wakefield, Castleford and now Hull KR, overhauling their form.

Kick-off in the fixture was put back by 90 minutes after four members of the Huddersfield camp tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday morning.

None of the four positive tests came from players who featured in the Giants' win against Castleford on Thursday.

Two of the positive tests involved injured players, with the other two from non-playing staff who have not been in contact with the squad.

One further unnamed player is awaiting the result of a retest and has been instructed to self-isolate until the results are received.

Huddersfield Giants interim boss Luke Robinson told BBC Radio Leeds:

"It was ugly, a tale of two halves. We were discplined with our approach in the first half. The weather conditions weere difficult.

"We've got to find a better way of starting second halves. Since returning from lockdown we've had a real problem with starting the second half and a lot of it is a concentration thing.

"If we really want to get to where we want, and I feel like we can this year, we have to be able to find that ruthless streak."

Hull KR boss Tony Smith told BBC Radio Humberside:

"We weren't good enough in the first half in some respects but I didn't think we were too far off.

"I didn't think there was that much between the two teams. Last week and the week before we were trounced in the first half.

"We were 18-0 down but sitting in the stand I didn't think there was much between us and we talked about that at half time, we matched them except in the area of execution."
