Challenge Cup: Featherstone Rovers 14-34 Hull FC - Visitors coast into quarter-finals

The tie was a repeat of the famous 1983 Challenge Cup final, when underdogs Featherstone beat then holders Hull FC

Hull FC coasted to victory against Championship side Featherstone Rovers to set up a Challenge Cup quarter-final against Wigan Warriors.

Josh Hardcastle sent Fev storming ahead but Bureta Faraimo and Carlos Tuimavave responded soon after for the visitors.

Josh Griffin crossed twice before Tuimavave went over again, while Jordan Johnstone also scored before the break.

Brett Ferres scored for the hosts early in the second half with Ben Blackmore running in a late third consolation.

Prior to kick-off, the draw for the quarter-finals took place during half-time in Catalans' win over Wakefield, with the winner of this tie going on to face Wigan after their victory over York on Friday.

Griffin was forced off for a head injury assessment in the second half before being cleared to return for the final 20 minutes.

Featherstone came into the game off the back of beating Batley and had looked primed to cause an upset when Hardcastle went over in the early stages.

Hull, however, were in fine form in a dominant first-half display as they immediately struck back before going on to coast to victory.
