Hull FC and Warrington missed nine attempts at goal to find a golden-point winner as they drew in Super League.
Jake Mamo scored a try for Warrington with the final play of the game to force extra time but neither side could land a drop-goal and Blake Austin missed a penalty attempt for Wire.
Tries from Jake Connor and Carlos Tuimavave looked to be enough for Hull to win a fourth straight game.
But Chris Hill kept Warrington in touch before Mamo's last-gasp score.
Gareth Widdop landed the goal to take the game into golden-point extra time but a succession of efforts, some of which were speculative, failed the find the target and the match was drawn after two scoreless five-minute halves.
The dramatic ending was perfectly juxtaposed against a dire first half in which the sides only exchanged a penalty goal each.
Jordan Lane made the game's first line break after the interval and it duly led to the first try as he gained 60 yards before sending Connor to the line.
Five minutes later, Warrington were level when Daryl Clark somehow offloaded for Hill to score despite being held by three defenders.
But Lane broke the Wire defence again and galloped upfield before Hull worked the ball for Tuimavave to score in the corner.
Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson told BBC Radio Humberside:
"It's a little underwhelming but we would have taken a point considering we could have lost it at the end.
"They asked plenty of good questions of us as a defensive line and we came up with the answers until the last play.
"We didn't complete enough sets and get them under pressure and we need to be stronger on both sides of the ball."
Warrington head coach Steve Price:
"It had everything. It was a tough game of footy. We had chances to win the game if the execution was better.
"There was a huge amount of spirit and fight in the boys. It was a tough game. Hull have been playing good footy of late.
"We put ourselves in a position to win the game, if we executed better, but overall we will take the one point."
