Australian superstar Greg Inglis marked his Super League debut with a try to help Warrington to victory in a seesaw contest against Hull KR.

Rovers led at half-time as Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Ryan Hall and Jordan Abdull scored tries, with Toby King and Ben Currie replying for the Wire.

Currie added his second after the break before Hall's second for Rovers.

However, the Wire then pulled clear through Inglis, Daryl Clark, Jake Mamo, Josh Charnley and Danny Walker scores.

Kane Linnett's score late on was mere consolation for Rovers who again tested defences with their attacking play, but could not stop points flowing the other way as their two-game winning run ended.

Abdull played a key role in their best moves, while Kenny-Dowall and Brad Takairangi showed off their box of tricks as well in their push for points.

Luis Johnson's sin-binning with the game wrapped up was one of few moments of indiscipline in an otherwise clean, but hard-fought game.

All of the pre-match headlines had been about Inglis' debut, and he grew in prominence as his side imposed themselves in the second-half after a tense, tit-for-tat opening 40.

Warrington showed they have plenty of attacking threat, but had to be patient before really taking control, while Stef Ratchford and Gareth Widdop prompted smartly in the halves, with Blake Austin again absent, and Daryl Clark was a menace from acting half.

After their opening-round wobble against Castleford, Warrington are now unbeaten in five in all competitions.

Inglis' introduction for Warrington meant a reshuffle of their thus-far productive backline, in particular slotting into their prolific left edge.

Try scorer King was moved to right centre to accommodate Inglis on the left, not that it seemed to affect the point scoring down that side as Rovers were pummelled on that edge early on.

The former Queensland back took a few carries, but was well marshalled by Rovers in the first-half - spilling one pass after a good hit from Rovers wing Ethan Ryan.

However, his first real good-ball attack saw him power and twist over in the corner for the score after half-time, and he finished the match at full-back after Matty Ashton's injury forced a rejig.

It was Inglis' first match since retiring with Souths in March 2019, and even with a delayed debut and plenty of training sessions under his belt, it will take him a few games to find his timing and match fitness.

Warrington boss Steve Price:

""It's like riding a bike, so we wanted to make it an easy transition for Greg and for his first hit out I thought he did a really good job for us.

"He did the basics well and then unfortunately Matty Ashton went down with his ankle and he switched to full-back and created a high level of calmness among the group which was really pleasing.

"It was good to get 50 points. We haven't done that for quite a while so that was really pleasing. I liked our intent and directness in the second half so overall it was a pleasing result.

"Credit to Hull KR they have a good attacking left edge and they will cause plenty of teams problems. Once we got our right edge sorted we were a lot more potent."

Hull KR boss Tony Smith:

"I thought we competed well in the first half with one of the big boys in the competition who have found some form. I thought we were still off our best in the first half from what I've seen this year but in the second half we inflicted a lot of pain on ourselves in a couple of ways.

"Some by the errors we made and also some sloppiness in our defence which you can't afford to do against the class players that Warrington have because they gobbled that up.

"We're disappointed overall but I think we are making progress nevertheless. We're still learning and finding the right opportunities which we have been better at in previous weeks but today we just didn't quite take the opportunities at the right times."
