Huddersfield Giants ran in seven tries to inflict another Super League defeat on struggling Leigh Centurions.

Lewis Tierney went over for Leigh early on but Ricky Leutele crossed to edge the visitors ahead soon after.

Ben Reynolds' penalty brought Leigh level but Kenny Edwards touched down to give the Giants a half-time lead.

Jake Wardle and Adam O'Brien added further tries after Leigh's James Bell was sin-binned as Jermaine McGillvary and Michael Lawrence sealed the win.

Brendon Elliot returned to action after a nine-month lay-off with a knee injury to make his Leigh debut but the hosts' torrid run since returning to Super League continued, with John Duffy's side suffering a seventh successive defeat.

Wakefield's win against Hull KR means the Centurions are now the only team in the league without a point.

Leigh's task was made harder on the hour mark when Bell was sent to the bin for dangerous contact with Adam O'Brien.

Huddersfield made quick work of their one-man advantage before Lawrence crossed for an emphatic seventh try after the hooter.
