Wigan came from behind to earn a narrow victory against Toulouse courtesy of Harry Smith's last-minute drop-goal.
Jai Field and Zak Hardaker crossed for Wigan early on but Guy Armitage, Maxime Stefani and Tony Gigot responded with tries for Toulouse before the break.
Cade Cust hit back early in the second half before Matty Russell and Armitage kept the hosts in control.
Liam Marshall and Field levelled things up with less than 10 minutes remaining before Smith's one-pointer won it.
Second-placed Wigan move level on points with Super League leaders St Helens after matching them with a fourth straight win, while new boys Toulouse stay bottom, still winless after their fourth loss in as many matches.
Despite Wigan taking a 10-0 lead inside the opening 10 minutes, Toulouse began a valiant comeback.
Armitage and Stefani both got off the mark to level the scores, then the hosts led thanks to good work from Gigot, who crossed just past the half-hour mark.
Gigot and Eloi Pelissier both added drop-goals before the break as Toulouse went in on top at 18-10.
Cust scored his first try for Wigan to cut into Toulouse's lead but the French side did not take long to respond once again, with tries from Russell and Armitage, who touched down after a fine 40-20 kick from Gigot to lead 28-16.
But Wigan fought hard to get back into the game, and Marshall and Field got them to within parity, before Smith's late drop-goal maintained the Warriors' 100 per cent record going into next Saturday's return to France to face Catalans Dragons in Perpignan.
Toulouse coach Sylvain Houles:
"I'm just so disappointed for the boys because they don't deserve to be on the losing side. That's the most frustrating part.
"But from where we're coming from, we can see that the process is working and the boys now know what we expect from them, how we want to work and play.
"They pushed Wigan all the way, so it is encouraging, but when you play sports you want to win.
"It's a tough one. It was there for us to take it and it's no good complaining. We have to focus on the things that we can improve."
Wigan coach Matt Peet:
"I wasn't surprised by Toulouse. I knew they are getting better week on week and it is clear that the win is getting closer for them.
"We started excellently. Our attitude was in the right place. It wasn't a situation where we didn't turn up, it's simply that Toulouse played themselves back into the game and credit to them for that.
"We have lots of lessons to learn from this game. Toulouse were the outstanding team on the night.
"It's a totally different challenge. At the moment Catalans and St Helens are the two outstanding teams in the competition. We know it's a big test for us in Perpignan and one we're looking forward to."
