Castleford Tigers have signed versatile outside-back Sam Wood on a three-year deal from Hull KR, to begin from the 2024 Super League onwards.

The 26-year-old has 38 tries and 15 goals in 129 career games, with three tries and two games in 11 games for the Robins during 2023.

Wood, who counts Huddersfield, Oldham and Batley among his old clubs, had his season ended by a knee injury in June.

"I want some stability," Wood said of the move to the Tigers.

"I want to be at a club I can really make my own, put my imprint on the club and fight for that starting shirt (and) really become a part of that club."

He is the latest signing for the Tigers, on the back of Papua New Guinea duo Nixon Putt and Sylvester Mamo, Batley centre Josh Hodson and Wynnum-Manly Seagulls centre Josh Simm.
