Liam Whitton's try secured Cornwall's first-ever victory over a heartland side when they beat Rochdale at the end of the season
Cornwall captain Liam Whitton has signed a new contract to stay at the League One side for the 2024 season.
The 22-year-old is one of the club's longest-serving players having joined from Halifax in February 2022.
The full-back - who came up through the Leeds Rhinos academy - scored the decisive try in Cornwall's win over Rochdale at the end of the season and featured in every game of the campaign.
"I love where the club is going," he told the club website.
"Over the past two years, I have played the most enjoyable rugby of my career and that's because of the togetherness of our squad.
"If we can start next season how we finished the previous one, then that would be class."
Cornwall RLFC head coach Mike Abbott added: "He grew into his role as captain as the season went on and I don't think there is any better full-back at our level under the high ball.
"His commitment and desire is there for everyone to see and that is something the rest of the lads really feed off."
