Salford Red Devils have tied down full-back Ryan Brierley on a three-year contract.

The 31-year-old scored nine tries and made nine assists in the 2023 season as Salford finished seventh in Super League but missed out on the play-offs.

Brierley was named as both supporters' and coaches' player of the year.

He only signed a three-year deal last year but his top-notch performances this summer have been rewarded with a new contract.

Head coach Paul Rowley told the Salford club website: "It is fantastic that Ryan has extended his contract and committed long-term to the club.

"He adds so much value on and off the field not only to the team, but to the club as a whole. He had a great year last year and was key to most things good happening."

Brierley's deal comes as his fellow Scotland international Danny Addy was released by the Red Devils, three years after he joined them from Leigh Centurions.

Addy played 16 times for Salford last season, and 41 in all, but did not register a try for the club.

His departure was announced in the week Salford announced the signing of utility forward Matty Foster following his release by St Helens.
