Salford Red Devils agree 12-month extension to remain at Salford Stadium

Super League side Salford Red Devils have signed a 12-month extension to remain at their Salford Stadium home following a row with the local council.
The club had said they were in jeopardy as Salford City Council had not yet purchased the remaining 50% stake in the stadium from Peel Holdings.
They also claimed that the existing deal meant they could not maximise revenues from use of the stadium.
A club statement, external on Thursday said the extension was on the "existing terms".
Managing director Paul King said that the club have, however, presented a working proposal with co-tenants Sale Sharks in order to include some additional matchday revenue.
"The proposal outlines terms that would enable a productive relationship and a future for each at the Salford Stadium, as well as profit for all parties. Terms include an initial and fair division of commercial assets and matchday revenues," he said.
"We have agreed to the extension with a belief in the council that their commitment to complete the stadium deal by March will materialise.
"Whilst conscious that the extension is the same terms as our previous agreement, the implications of operating without any tenancy agreement leaves little choice in the short term, however, it does now provide a level of certainty heading into 2024."
