Cornwall have signed backs Jack Sander and Kyle Marvin for the 2024 season.

Cornish-born centre Sander, 24, grew up in rugby union before taking up the 13-man game while at Oxford University and playing in the Varsity match against Cambridge.

Marvin has played in Canada and England and has experience of the National Conference League.

The 23-year-old, who holds dual Canadian and British citizenship, can play at centre or on the wing.

He was with Rochdale Mayfield last season - the side who beat Cornwall in their first-ever Challenge Cup tie.

"He's played a few games at NCL level which, as we saw first hand last year, is a very good standard of football," head coach mike Abbott told the club website.

"Kyle has been training with the lads for a few weeks now and like so many of our additions over the close season, can give us cover in more than one position."

Abbott added: "We had a look at Jack at the back end of last season and he travelled with us to a couple of away games too.

"We were impressed with him on the pitch but like all of our players, we need to look at more than that.

"Jack being based in Cornwall meant we could offer him the chance to show us what he was like off the field too, and his attitude to learn and develop as a player has been first class.

"He has rugby league experience from playing the game at University and I've seen those Varsity games, they are high quality matches played by good players."
