Jared Waerea-Hargreaves: Hull KR sign Sydney Roosters prop for 2025 season

Hull KR have agreed a one-year deal with Sydney Roosters prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves for the 2025 season.
The 35-year-old has won three NRL Grand Finals with the Roosters and needs to play 15 more games to become the club's record appearance-maker.
The move to east Hull will see him work alongside former New Zealand team-mate Shaun Kenny-Dowall, who is on the Robins' coaching staff.
"Shaun's spoken highly about the club," Waerea-Hargreaves said.
"And [of] the people within the club. It's obviously been a part of what I wanted to do, coming towards the back end of my career, it's exciting," he told BBC Radio Humberside.
Linking up with his self-confessed best mate, who made a massive impact at Rovers as a player before his retirement at the end of last season, is a major incentive for the veteran front-rower to bring his family to East Yorkshire.
"We've got the respect for what we've done in the game either together or at other clubs, we've known each other long enough," Waerea-Hargreaves added.
"To be on the other side of the world in England with one of your best mates and your wife and kids there - it's pretty special to be able to go to a place like Hull, to a special club and try to do some special things."
Waerea-Hargreaves will miss the start of the forthcoming NRL season after being hit with a seven-match ban for a high tackle last August.
Hull KR started their 2024 campaign off with a thumping 22-0 win over cross-city rivals Hull FC last week.
