Women's Super League champions York Valkyrie have signed Warrington half-back Lucy Eastwood and British Army centre Manuqalo Komaitai for 2024.

Eastwood played under Valkyrie coach Lindsay Anfield at Castleford, playing in Challenge Cup and Grand Finals with the Tigers.

She played six games in the Super League last season, scoring two tries.

Komaitai impressed in the Army's Super League South campaign in 2023, helping the team to the play-off stages.

The Fijian has experience in women's rugby union with London Irish, and with a Pacific Islanders representative side.

"I've coached Lucy before at Castleford and England Students and she is a really skilful player who has a real in-depth understanding of the game," Anfield said.

"Manuqalo was highly recommended by Carrie Roberts [fellow soldier and York centre].

"She's really a direct, hard-running, athletic and strong player, and she doesn't take a backwards step."
