Hull KR have brought their number six shirt out of retirement for reigning Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel winner Mikey Lewis.
The Robins retired the jersey after club legend Roger Millward died in 2016 at the age of 68.
Lewis, 23, enjoyed a superb 2024 season as he scored 19 tries to help the club reach a first ever Grand Final, where they lost 9-2 to Wigan.
"I can't wait to run out in that first game at Craven Park and to have that number on the back of my shirt with my name on it, in the memory of Roger, will be really special," Lewis, who previously played in the number seven shirt, told the club website., external
Millward made 406 appearances for Hull KR, scoring a club record 207 tries and kicking 607 goals before going on to win six trophies in 11 years as the team's coach.
His widow Carol Millward said: "Watching Mikey play reminds me very much of Roger's style of play. I think he's worthy of it and I'm happy for it to be passed on."
