Cornwall have bolstered their squad with seven signings ahead of their Challenge Cup tie with North Wales Crusaders.

Wales prop Harry Boots has agreed a one-year deal to start what will be his third season at the club.

Meanwhile, forward Joshua Rhodes has joined the club permanently from Hunslet having spent tine at the Choughs on loan last season.

The club has also signed five players following open trials held during the winter.

Josh Frost, Mackenzie Cumming, Benjamin Cripps have all previously played internationally at university level while Greg Short has represented the East of England and Bradley Llewellyn has played for Wales Dragonhearts.

Head coach Mike Abbott said Boots "offers a lot of power and effort to the team through the middle" as they prepare to host North Wales Crusaders in Penryn on Sunday (13:00 GMT).

"He just does exactly what a middle does, never being afraid of the hard work," Abbott added. "Getting through some of those real ugly carries when we need him to. He's just Mr Dependable."
