Tommy Makinson has signed a two-year deal with Catalans Dragons from next season.
The 32-year-old St Helens winger announced in May that he would leave the club he has served for 14 seasons at the end of the current campaign.
England international Makinson is the Saints' second top try-scorer this season with eight in 12 Super League games.
Dragons head coach Steve McNamara told the Catalans club website, external: "He is a leader, hugely competitive and knows how to win. He is a great signing for our club."
The move will bring to an end a stellar career with Saints for the Wigan-born player, in which he won five Super League titles, a World Club Challenge, a Challenge Cup and four League Leaders' Shields.
He was also included in the league's Dream Team three times, and was awarded the international Golden Boot in 2018.
Saints had made it plain they wanted Makinson to stay with chairman Eamonn McManus describing him as "one of the all-time greatest Saints wingers as well as one of its best players in our most successful era".
