Huddersfield sign Hull KR full-back Evalds on loan

Niall Evalds helped Hull KR reach the Super League Grand Final for the first time in their history last season

Huddersfield Giants have signed Hull KR full-back Niall Evalds on loan until the end of the Super League season.

The 31-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign, scored 11 tries in 32 appearances for the Robins.

He could make his debut for the Giants in Thursday's match against fellow winless side Salford Red Devils.

"He's been consistently one of the best full-backs for a number of years, he's got plenty of speed and lots of energy," head coach Luke Robinson told the club website.

"Niall is really good defensively, he's not scared of putting his body on the line and also has that threat with his speed coming back at the big middles."
