Castleford Tigers have made their second acquisition from Wakefield Trinity this week with the signing of hooker Liam Hood.
The 33-year-old joins loose forward Renouf Atoni at the newly re-named OneBore Stadium for the 2026 Super League campaign, signing a one-year deal with an option of a further year.
Hood started his career at Leeds Rhinos back in 2009 and has also turned out for clubs including Salford Red Devils, Leigh and Widnes Vikings.
"After speaking to Chris [Chester] myself, and him telling me about all the positive things going on at the club, I thought it would be a great move for me," Hood told Castleford's website., external
"I know it's not been a great season this year but I'm hoping we as a group can change that next year and I'll be doing everything I can to play my part in that."
Director of rugby Chester added: "Liam's an experienced, calm head who knows how to control a game through the middle."
