Cumbria will face Nigeria in a match on 2 November in a first game for the county team for two years.

The representative side will play at Barrow Raiders' Northern Competitions Stadium.

Cumbria last played a Wales Chairman's XI in 2023 and Jamaica the year before that, but they have a history of facing touring Australia and New Zealand sides down the years, although not since 1994.

It is widely expected that Barrow head coach Paul Crarey will again lead the Cumbria side, which two years ago included Super League players in forwards Brad Singleton of Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos' James Donaldson.

Nigeria are currently 39th in the International Rugby League rankings.
