Cornwall's Punchard gets two-week ban for red card

Morgan Punchard first joined Cornwall on loan last June and made his move permanent a month later

Cornwall half-back Morgan Punchard has been banned for two games after being sent off in last Sunday's loss at Rochdale.

Punchard was red-carded eight minutes before half-time for punching Hornets' Ben Killan in the 56-24 defeat in League One.

The 25-year-old was also fined £40 by a Rugby Football League panel for the incident.

He will be able to play in Sunday's trip to Midlands Hurricanes but will miss the following matches at home to Oldham and away at his former club Hunslet.
