    The 2025 Super League season got off to a dramatic start as Leigh beat reigning champions Wigan in golden-point extra time - after the two sides played out the first 0-0 draw in the competition's 29-year history. Gareth O'Brien kicked the decisive drop-goal three minutes into the additional time, ensuring a losing start for last season's Quadruple winners.

    Last year's Man of Steel Mikey Lewis kicked a golden point drop-goal for Hull KR to earn his side a dramatic victory in a hard-fought contest against Castleford Tigers.

    St Helens thrash depleted Salford in record-breaking victory

    St Helens kicked off their Super League season with a record thrashing of a youthful and depleted Salford Red Devils at Totally Wicked Stadium. The visitors under investigation by the Rugby Football League following their squad selection for Saturday's heavy defeat.

    Warrington Wolves recovered from a sluggish first-half display to hold off Huddersfield Giants as they opened their Super League campaign with victory at John Smith's Stadium.

    Elsewhere, newly-promoted Wakefield Trinity survived a late scare to beat Leeds Rhinos at Headingley on their return to Super League and A superb first-half display from Hull FC helped them to a 24-4 season-opening victory at Catalans Dragons.
