Watch: Wigan win Challenge Cup for record extending 21st time

Hull FC will aim to stop Wigan Warriors' attempts to win back-to-back Challenge Cup titles for the first time since 1995.

The two sides have met in no less than four Challenge Cup finals, with the most recent being a 2017 trip to Wembley that Wigan fans would rather forget, where Tom Burgess was denied a last minute equaliser leaving Hull FC to take a closely fought 18-14 victory.Between 1988 and 1995, the club produced one of the most incredible runs the sport had ever seen, delivering eight consecutive Challenge Cup wins.

Matt Peet's side displayed similar dominance of that incredible team last season, defeating Warrington Wolves in the final last year to secure four major honours, alongside the League Leaders' Shield, the Super League title, the World Club Challenge and the record-extending 21st title too.

This year, Wigan sealed their place in the fourth round thanks to a comfortable 48-12 win at Sheffield Eagles, while Hull secured passage with 52-6 victory over amateur side York Acorn.

There will be stern opposition for the Cherry and Whites as the new-look Hull FC, now coached by John Cartwright, have made a good start to the Super League season, sealing a shock opening away win at Catalans Dragons but will seek revenge against the Warriors, who delivered their only defeat this season, with a ruthless 46-4 win at the MKM Stadium.

'Rugby stopped me going off the rails'

Rugby league is a fast and dynamic game, which involves great strength, stamina and skill, and is played through the summer, so no muddy pitches, or cold, wet training nights!

With so many variations, you don't have to play the full version of the game to be part of it.

Whatever your age, gender, fitness level or technical ability there is a version of rugby league that will suit you. Playing rugby league has many benefits, including keeping fit, meeting new people and maybe even progressing to a higher level.

Although rugby league shares similarities with rugby union, it is important to see them as different games, and as such, each has its own unique set of skills.
