London Irish back-row forward Declan Danaher has signed a new two-year contract with the Premiership club.

Danaher has played 240 times, scoring 21 tries, since his debut in 1999.

"I never wanted to leave. I'm delighted to sign for two more years and I hope to end my career here," 32-year-old Danaher told BBC Radio Berkshire.

"We've got some young players coming through at this club and, with senior players leaving next season, it is up to them to shine."

Danaher, who began his career at the Exiles, added: "I have only played for London Irish throughout my career and have no desire to play for any other club other than this one.

"I am passionate about the Exiles and feel that we have a lot of unfinished business in terms of bringing silverware back home and that's something I want to be part of."
