Louis Messer and Tom Bowen sign new Plymouth Albion deals

Plymouth Albion backs Tom Bowen and Louis Messer have signed new one-year contracts with the Championship club.

Winger Bowen, 20, who joined from Leicester last summer, scored six tries in 18 appearances in his first campaign at the Brickfields.

Messer, 24, who also joined at the start of the season, played the first two games before a serious knee injury.

The England Students full-back returned to fitness last month and featured in Albion's final two matches.

"Tom Bowen is such a promising young player and a second season of Championship will really help his development," said Albion chief executive Debbie Fisher.

"We are really pleased that Louis Messer has accepted a new contract with Albion," she added.

"Having been injured for a large part of last season, we are keen to see Louis reach his full potential in the next campaign."

The pair follow , external, external in agreeing new deals under new head coach James Shanahan, while the likes of Connacht's Eoghan Grace are joining the club.
