Cornish Pirates head coach Ian Davies says his players will not be affected by uncertainty over the club's future.

Earlier this week owner Dickie Evans announced that he was to step down from the role and sell shares in the club.

The club are continuing to try and get permission to build a new stadium in the county which comes up to Premiership criteria.

"The players are quite content and we'll get on with our job of winning matches," Davies told BBC Cornwall.

But he said there had been some concern amongst the squad when the news was first announced.

"Initially it did [affect the players] because there was that uncertainly of the news.

"But Rod Coward [Pirates' acting chief executive] spoke to the players last week and Dickie's spoken to the players as well.

"Everybody now knows what's happening and why it's happening."
