Pro12: Glasgow Warriors P-P Edinburgh

The Scottish derby in the Pro12 between Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh was postponed after a 17:00 pitch inspection at Scotstoun Stadium.

Incessant rain in Glasgow had left the pitch waterlogged and a rescheduled date has yet to be agreed.

The match doubles as the second leg of the 1872 Cup, with Warriors leading 20-16 following their win at Murrayfield on Boxing Day.

Glasgow remain fourth in the Pro12, with Edinburgh three places behind.

Edinburgh are still ahead of Cardiff in the table despite the Blues drawing level on points after their 21-13 win over NG Dragons, who remain two points ahead of the Scots but having played one extra game.

When the match is rescheduled, Edinburgh need to win by five points or more if they are to lift the 1872 Cup for the first time since season 2008-09.

Edinburgh captain Greig Laidlaw told BBC Scotland: "It's extremely disappointing for everyone concerned as we were looking forward to it.

"But the pitch is in a pretty bad state and even to get drop-outs 10 yards was going to be difficult.

"We have two big Heineken Cup games coming up and we turn our attentions to them."

A Glasgow spokesman said: "The pitch was playable until around 90 minutes before kick-off and, despite the officials giving it as long as possible to try and play the match, they decided the game could not go ahead.

"Supporters should retain their tickets, which were issued for tonight's match as they will be valid for the rearranged fixture.

"Due to further rain forecast, it's unlikely the pitch will drain in the next few days, therefore the match will not be rescheduled for later this weekend.

"Further information including the date and time of the rescheduled fixture will be communicated when it has been confirmed."
