Leicester Tigers sign props Michele Rizzo & Aniseko Sio

Michele Rizzo joins his former Treviso team-mates Robert Barbieri and Leonardo Ghiraldini in making the move from Italy to to Leicester.

Leicester Tigers have signed props Michele Rizzo and Aniseko Sio, but contract terms have not been revealed.

Italy international Rizzo, 31, joins from Benetton Treviso while 21-year-old Sio, who made his Test debut for Samoa in May, moves to Welford Road from Vaimoso on his native island.

"Sio is a young player who wants to come and develop his game with us," said Tigers boss Richard Cockerill.

"Michele Rizzo is an experienced player in Europe and at Test level."

Rizzo, who earned the first of his 15 Test caps for Italy in 2005, was on a shortlist of Tigers targets after twice starting against the East Midlands club in the Heineken Cup last term.
