Cornish Pirates boss Ian Davies says he would not be surprised if Tom Kessell and Darren Barry moved to the Premiership next summer.

The duo, both 24, have been selected for the Championship select team to face Canada at Kingsholm next month.

Scrum-half Kessell has scored four tries this season, while lock Barry has played every minute in the league.

"I'm thrilled for the guys, they fully deserve it," director of rugby Davies told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"Darren had a lot of interest from the Premiership last year, but that fell through, and I think the same will happen this year.

"If Tom keeps playing the way he is he'll certainly get the offers as well.

"They're two cracking lads as well who have been very good for the Pirates for the time they've been here."
