Cornish Pirates prop Tyler Gendall could be out for a year after rupturing his anterior cruciate knee ligament.

The 20-year-old ex-St Ives player was hurt in last week's win over Bedford.

"I'm devastated for the lad, he's such a cracking kid," Pirates director of rugby Ian Davies told BBC Cornwall.

"He's been progressing fabulously throughout the season, but unfortunately injury's part of the game, but you don't like to see it in somebody so young."
