Six Nations 2015: Wales' Jamie Roberts braced for 'huge match'

Centre Jamie Roberts says there is a huge sense of anticipation surrounding Wales' Six Nations game against Ireland on Saturday.

Grand Slam-chasing Ireland travel to Cardiff with Wales knowing a win would keep them in the title race.

Ireland have a two-point lead over England and Wales in the table with two rounds of matches to play.

"If we win, we stay in the hunt for the championship. If we lose, we are out of it," Roberts said.

"It is one of those games that will stick long in the memory, whether it is a win or a loss.

"It is one of those big games that do not come around too often in your career. It is against a team who are the best team in Europe at the moment.

"It is why we play the game, it's why we do what we do. You play the game to wear that jersey for Wales and play in the biggest games of all. This is a huge match."

Wales head coach Warren Gatland has named an unchanged team for Saturday's game at the Millennium Stadium.

The Irish have won their last 10 internationals and have beaten Wales in their previous two meetings and Roberts describes them as a "formidable team".

"Their attacking kicking game, their tactical kicking game - certainly from the half-backs - is very evident," Roberts said.

"They always come up with a trick play or two, so we have to be prepared for that.

"It is who blinks first, but it is also who dares wins as well. They are a bit of a game of chess, these big games.

"We have to be ready to go out and play and take the game to them.

"They are very clever defensively, they pick and choose their rucks, and we have got to be very clever in that respect. It is certainly a thinking man's game this weekend."
