Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips says he is settled at Racing Metro and even hopes to extend his contract with the French Top 14 side.

The 32-year-old British and Irish Lion joined Racing in December 2013 on a two-and-a-half year deal.

Phillips had been linked with a return to play in Wales, or a move to England.

"I've got another year so I'm pretty happy here... hopefully get another year on the back of the next year as well," Phillips said.

"It's a great set-up here, we've got a new stadium coming, signed some big names for next year, so it's a side that's moving forward in the right direction."

Phillips, who has played for Scarlets, Cardiff Blues and Ospreys in Wales, has won 93 caps for Wales and five for the Lions.

But this season he has seen Ospreys scrum-half Rhys Webb oust him as Wales' first-choice number nine.
