Veteran Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips hopes to continue his career beyond the end of his Racing Metro contract, which expires in June 2016.
Phillips, 32, says "there's been a bit of chat" about a contract extension.
No matter how those talks progress, the ex-Scarlet, Cardiff Blue and Osprey intends to "have a couple of extra years" at the top level.
He said: "I guess it really depends on how we finish the [French] Championship this year. We're still challenging."
Phillips joined the Paris club two months after being dismissed by Bayonne in October 2013 having been accused of off-field indiscipline.
He has 93 Wales caps, winning two Grand Slams and the 2013 Six Nations title, and made five British and Irish Lions Test appearances during tours in 2009 and 2013.
Phillips, who played at the 2007 and 2011 World Cups, wants to make the Wales squad for this year's event, which starts in September.
"There's still another big chapter to go, hopefully, in the career and I'm really hoping to make this World Cup coming up," said Phillips.
