Wales international Matthew Morgan has been named English Championship player of the year.

The fly-half scored 152 points in 19 appearances as Bristol topped the table.

"I wouldn't have been able to achieve this without my team-mates, who have been fantastic," Morgan told the club website.

Morgan joined Bristol from Ospreys in the summer of 2014, and has made one substitute appearance for Wales.

Bristol finished the season six points ahead of Worcester in the table, but will have to beat their main rivals in a two-leg play-off to claim a place in the Premiership next season.

The first leg takes place on Wednesday, 20 May.

"The focus for everyone now is to kick on and ensure we end the season on a high," added Morgan.

"We're really excited about what is to come."
