Sale Sharks have signed former All Blacks lock Bryn Evans from Biarritz on a two-year deal.

The 30-year-old, who has two caps, left London Irish three seasons ago to move to France and has been playing in the Pro D2, the division below the Top 14.

He joins Neil Briggs and Peter Stringer as the signings so far for next season.

"He's a tough nut and highly recommended by Dan Braid and Michael Paterson," said Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond.

"He played for London Irish for three years, captained them and he'll come and do a really good job I think."

Diamond also revealed he is prioritising a tight-head prop as his next signing, followed by an outside back.
