Alex Lewington has signed a two-year contract extension with London Irish.

The 23-year-old winger joined the Exiles from Leicester in July 2013 on a three-year deal and scored 12 tries in last season's Premiership.

He was rewarded with a call-up to the England squad for their match against the Barbarians in May.

"I've thoroughly enjoyed my two season at London Irish. My game has really moved on and I'm keen to continue that progression this season," he said.

Glenn Delaney, head of rugby operations, added: "Alex has broken through significantly in the last two seasons and is now approaching full England opportunities.

"He's a big part of our plans and we're delighted he's committed to us."

Full details of Lewington's new deal have not been disclosed by the club.
