Wales ended their Six Nations campaign with a disappointing defeat against Italy at the Talbot Athletic Ground.
Two first half tries from Beatrice Rigoni proved decisive, though Italy failed to produce the 17-point winning margin they needed to leapfrog Wales in the Six Nations standings.
The visitors led 13-0 in the first half, before two tries from Sioned Harries put Wales back in contention.
However, Michela Sillari's second half penalty proved decisive.
Wales also lost hooker Carys Phillips who was stretchered off with a suspected broken leg.
It was the Italian's third consecutive Six Nations victory over Wales.
Wales finish fourth, Italy fifth.
